Temba Bavuma nominated for four CSA awards
2023 CSA Awards nominees:
Among the men nominated for the 2023 CSA Awards, Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram, Anrich Nortje, and David Miller are prominently listed.
The 2023 CSA Awards will be presented at the first live event following the Covid-19 lockdowns on July 7 at Vodaworld in Midrand.
The event honours cricket’s top players from the previous season with a spectacular ceremony that will be televised on SuperSport. A number of professional awards for both national and domestic levels will be given out.
The SA Men’s Player of the Year, ODI Player of the Year, and Test Player of the Year nominations all go to Bavuma, the Proteas’ Test and ODI skipper.
Miller is vying for both the T20I and ODI Player of the Year honours following another memorable white-ball season. Miller is up for the SA Men’s Player of the Year title along with Nortje, T20I skipper Markram, and Nortje.
The 2022–23 season saw Markram make a great comeback, and he is recognised in the SA Fans’ Player of the Year, Test Player of the Year, and ODI Player of the Year categories.
Nortje’s entry into the top 10 of the T20I bowling rankings is evidence that she played a significant role in the Proteas’ triumph last season. The 29-year-old has won awards in four different categories.
The International Men’s Newcomer of the Year award has three young men up for consideration: Tristan Stubbs, Tony de Zorzi, and Gerald Coetzee.
Shabnim Ismail, a Proteas Women’s pace bowler who just announced her retirement, was nominated for four trophies, including SA Women’s Player of the Year, and she played a significant part in an amazing T20 World Cup campaign.
Laura Wolvaardt, Marizanne Kapp, and Nonkululeko Mlaba fall into that desirable category.
Mlaba is a nominee for the T20 Player of the Year, while Kapp has gained participation in the Women’s T20 and ODI International Player of the Year categories.
