Harbhajan Angry On Migrants Who Want To Return To Their Homes

Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has found fault with people who gathered in large numbers outside Bandra railway station, Mumbai, to go to their native places,  after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement on Tuesday that the lockdown will be extended until May 3rd as a  part of government’s efforts to fight the dreadful coronavirus.

Harbhajan Singh: Bandra Incident Unacceptable

He wrote on his Twitter that people should understand the situation prevailing in the country and should not put their lives and others’ lives in danger. He also advised them that curfew is the only option to keep everyone inside. He fumed that what the people did there was unacceptable.

He tweeted,” Curfew is the only option to keep everyone inside..what happened in Bandra today is unacceptable.. people not understanding the situation..putting their life and many others in danger. @narendramodi @AUThackeray.”

Thousands of people formed groups near Bandra station as they wanted to leave for their homes to see their families.

The police tried to convince the crowds to disperse but had to resort to mild lathi-charge later as they felt that the crowds were getting out of control.

Migrants Demand Police To Allow Them To Go To Their Native Places

The people who were mostly migrants demanded they could not live away from their families any further as the second phase of lockdown was extended until May 3rd, and wanted to return to their homes.

They asked the police to provide suitable transportation facilities to enable them to go to their respective towns and villages.
