Harbhajan Singh And Geeta Basra To Help 5000 Families

Harbhajan Singh: Cricket Has Given So Much And This Is The Slightest I Could Do

The cricketing fraternity is trying to help the Indian Government and the needy people during this coronavirus pandemic. While many players donated to the CM Relief funds and PM CARES fund, some players have looked after the poor families who are struggling heavily during this lockdown period.

Now renowned Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh and his wife Geeta Basra have come forward to help the poor and needy families in Jalandhar.

On Sunday (05-04-2020), this couple declared that they will distribute ration to 5k families in Jalandhar and play their role in helping the needy people in this critical situation. But now he is staying in Mumbai. That’s why he is coordinating with his friends, who are staying in Jalandhar to help the needy ones.

Also, he consulted with the Punjab Police about this and his close friends will be distributing the ration on behalf of the couple.

He was quoted “ Earlier, I used to live in Daulatpuri. Today my friends finished the dry ration distribution to 5000 families in that area. Personally, I have discussed this thing to the DC of Punjab Police, Jalandhar. My team, as well as friends, will be maintaining the guidelines and accordingly give the food packets”.

On Sunday (05-04-2020), he took his twitter handle and let his fans and followers know regarding the noble cause and prayed God for the well being of everyone.

Harbhajan Singh: I can’t see my own people suffer

The 37 years old cricketer will distribute 5 kg of rice, flour, oil and other necessary items that are very much needed for daily survival. He also said that he will continue this until the situation comes to normal conditions.

He added “ Still I am emotionally involved with Jalandhar as I split my time between Mumbai and Jalandhar. A portion of the mine is there and I can’t see my people suffer. Cricket has given a lot to me and this is the slightest I could do. I thanks to Punjab Police as well as my friends. But still, a lot of work is required to be done.”
