Ganguly Refuses To Comment On Dhoni’s Exclusion From BCCI List

Exclusion of Dhoni from Annual Player list

The former Indian captain and current president of BCCI Sourav Ganguly refused to speak anything about the exclusion of MS Dhoni’s name from the BCCI’s Annual Player list. It shocked many at not seeing Dhoni’s name in India’s Annual Player Contract list. The board released the list on the 16th of January.

While the list consists of names of players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah, it excluded the name of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Fans started to assume that the former captain of the Indian team is not going to play for India.

However, not including Dhoni’s name in the Annual Player Contract list doesn’t mean that the star player cannot be a part of the Indian team soon. However, Dhoni has not played any single match after the defeat that Team India faced in the semi-finals against New Zealand in the ICC World Cup 2019.

Ganguly refused to comment on Dhoni’s exclusion

When asked about Dhoni’s exclusion from the list, Ganguly refused to comment on anything related to it. “I cannot comment on this,” was Ganguly’s reply.

Dhoni was last seen playing in the semi-final for India in the ICC World Cup 2019 where the team lost to the Black Caps team. Since then the veteran wicket-keeper hasn’t played active cricket.

Dhoni Training with Ranji Trophy team

On 16th January, Dhoni started training with the Jharkhand Ranji Trophy team in his hometown Ranchi. Dhoni spent some time in the nets and went through the usual training session.

Jharkhand coach, Rajiv Kumar, said, he thought that there would be a bit of rustiness as Dhoni had not trained for quite some time. Dhoni said in a conversation that he would start playing from January and thus now he has started his practice, he added.
