‘We Are Glad We Lost That Match’ – CSK Hilariously Trolls RCB On Twitter

BCCI has postponed the IPL 2020 tournament for an unspecified time in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The chances of the tournament being held in 2020 are very slim. Moreover, the current lockdown has made the situation worse from the point of view of the governing board of the IPL.

However, people in the country have provided some relief since the government announced the reopening of liquor stores in the country. But Chennai is one of the cities where people have not had any such relaxation due to a sudden rise in COVID-19 incidents. In the meantime, CSK has come out of trolling RCB because of their poor IPL past.

Royal Challengers Bangalore has a massive fan base all over the world. Moreover, they’ve always got a solid, star-studded line-up, but they’ve never managed to get their hands on the coveted trophy. Every year, they come out with a strong team, and fans expect to win their maiden IPL title, but it never happened. RCB has done very poor performance in the last few seasons and finished the 6th and 8th season respectively in 2018 and 2019.

CSK takes a dig at RCB’s poor run in IPL

This year, the fans again had expectations upon the RCB, but the outbreak of COVID-19 splashed water on their hopes. The tournament, which was scheduled to begin on March 29, was postponed by the BCCI in the middle of the lockdown in the country. Recently, the Modi government has introduced some relaxation under these troubling conditions and has permitted to reopen liquor stores in various states.

Meanwhile, the recent reports say that Chennai’s liquor shops did not open because of the increasing number of cases of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu. However, this was not the case in Bangalore where people purchased liquor on a wholesale basis.

So, CSK came out and took a dig at the weak IPL run of the RCB. They took their official Twitter handle and shared a post that read, “So much talk about Chennai competing with Bangalore in liquor sales. We are pleased that with the latest announcement we lost the match before it began, as battles are more critical in the current universe.

Earlier, H. Nagesh, the Excise Minister, had already declared that the liquor stores in Bangalore and Mysore, including the Red Zone, would remain open except the hotspot areas identified by the state government.
