PCB Chief Ramiz Raja Uses Bulletproof Vehicle Due To Security Threat

While briefing the NA Standing Committee headed by MNA Nawab Sher on the performance of the Board, The PCB Chief Ramiz Raja told the national assembly standing committee on sports that he uses a bulletproof vehicle because of a security threat.

The PCB Chief, Ramiz Raja has disclosed that he had received life threats from inside as well as outside the country.

When Did Ramiz Raja Receive The Threats?

After the committee meeting, when reporters asked Ramiz to explain the threats he had mentioned, the PCB chairman said he first received the threats during the Pakistan Super League.

Ramiz Raja did tell the committee members at one stage that he only used the bulletproof vehicle of the board because of a security threat otherwise he avoided taking any perks from the PCB,” PTI quoted a source, who was present at the meeting.

The source also claimed that none of the national assembly committee members questioned the chairman about what would happen to his position as board chairman after the change in government or why he had not considered quitting like others before he had done whenever a government changed.

“Ramiz made it clear to the committee members in the two-hour-long session that he only utilized the daily allowances, hotel, and travel expenses allowed to the chairman under service rules,” he said.

The current chief Pakistan board claimed that the previous chiefs also used bulletproof vehicles due to security threats.

On how Pakistan is performing in cricket, Ramiz Raja told the committee that various steps were being taken to further improve the country’s cricket system.

To fulfill the dream PCB planning to conduct a junior T20 league in the coming October. While they are also planning a women’s T20 league in February 2023.

Members Of The Committee Were Happy When Raza Lauded The Team’s Performance

“Most of the members expressed satisfaction with the work done by the board since Ramiz took charge last September and also lauded the team’s performances.” Pakistan currently stands third in T20I, third in ODI, and fifth in Tests, in the ICC Rankings.
