CSK out of IPL 2020:
Any side ruled out 1st of the playoffs of the IPL is an extreme disappointment for its fans. In the 2020 IPL case, the fans of Chennai Super Kings are facing the same situation. Till now, the CSK team always managed to qualify for the playoffs.
After the loss from Rajasthan Royals, CSK wants magic to qualify for the playoffs. Generally, the IPL team needs 8 victories among 14 matches to qualify for the playoffs. CSK has already lost 7 matches, which means they can maximum win now is seven.
Is there any probability of CSK to qualify for the 2020 IPL playoffs?
The thing that hurting CSK most is that in the 2020 IPL, 19 numbers of league matches yet to be played. Permutation and combinations are suggested mostly when in the league stage sides have two or three matches remaining.
In this situation, six teams have five games each remaining to be played further which increases the permutations for CSK.
One most important chance for CSK to come into playoffs is to win all their four remaining matches and that too by a large margin.
The table-topper Delhi Capital has already won seven matches out of nine and they will need to win all their remaining games against CSK to qualify. They can lose against MI as both MI and DC will need to qualify for Chennai Super Kings to qualify.
In case the same thing occurs with MI and DC against SRH and RR, DC and MI will be the leading two sides on the points table respectively.
So far, RCB won six matches out of nine and placed at the 3rd spot, and have to maintain the spot throughout for CSK to qualify. MI and RCB can even swap their spots but it will remain important for RCB to beat KKR and SRH.
The much needed for the qualification of CSK is that the leading three sides remain they are or mostly swap their spots among each other. The next four sides, SRH, KXIP, KKR, and RR, their points should not be exceeded 12. If one team’s point rises to 14, then CSK has another difficulty to overcome the net run rate.
At last, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that MS Dhoni who showed his experience and pulled out of the hat over many years, will need to pull out his massive trick for CSK to qualify for the 2020 IPL playoffs.
