CA Still Negotiating India’s Arrival For Test Series With Host States

Cricket Australia is negotiating with health officials of Queensland:

Cricket Australia is discussing with the health officials of Queensland before the arrival of players over the quarantining of team India ahead of the Test series.

The Indian team is decided to be quarantined in Brisbane and play six numbers of short-form internationals in November and December in Queensland before shifting to Adelaide to play the 1st of four Test matches.

Many Indian and Australian players will come from the UAE where IPL is continuing and end on 10th November, but Cricket Australia has not got any confirmation from the health officials of Queensland.

CA said they had a meeting with the health department of Queensland on Monday (19-10-2020) and were assured of conducting a full-fledge of matches with India.

Furthermore, CS said, “ This is a really a complex plan that concerns the safety and health of the community, staff members and players, and to finalize all the arrangements, the clarification is needed.”

“We would like to give our regards to the BCCI for their understanding and patience as we are working for a successful result.”

As per the report, Queensland was the most populous state in eastern Australia and containing coronavirus. That’s why it closed its borders to other parts of the country in August.

Because of the health security, the state election, which was scheduled to be held on 31st Oct and rugby league match was deferred.

India tour of Australia: What are the protocols decided by CA?

As per the report of Cricket Australia, the government of Queensland wants CA and the traveling team to obey all the rules and regulations o bio-secure protocols. According to the guidelines, the Indians team has to obey the following activities-

– Indian players have to go through a full-fledged two weeks quarantine period
– They can’t go for training in that period.
– Any COVID-19 positive tests would see the whole group has to go for another quarantine period
–  There was no possibility to be quarantined in a Brisbane hotel and training at the Allan Border Field.

If Cricket Australia can’t reach an agreement with Queensland Health, then they might soon have to start looking at other options.
