Former Skipper Virat Kohli Sweats It Out In Practice, All Set For Asia Cup 2022 Challenge

Asia Cup 2022 Challenge: Out of form, Virat Kohli is currently facing his career’s most difficult period. He has been trying to score a ton since November 22nd, 2019, but it wasn’t happening.

However, the former Indian skipper, who some days ago also expressed his desire to win Asia Cup 2022 and ICC T20 World Cup for India, has already started his preparation for the first target Asia Cup, which is going to start on August 27, by sweating it out in a practice session.

In the fourteenth edition of the Asia Cup held in 2018, Kohli was not there with the squad as he opted to rest. In place him, Rohit Sharma took the charge and led the team to victory after beating Bangladesh in the finals by 3 wickets. The event was played in the 50-over format.

Although, this time the event will be played in the 20-over format, considering the preparation of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia, which will begin on October 16.

Virat Kohli All Set For The Asia Cup 2022 Challenge

Popularly known as a run-machine Kohli vowed to do everything in his power to guide men in blue win the World Cup.

“My main aim is to help India win the Asia Cup and the World Cup and for that I am ready to do anything for the team,” Kohli said.

There was the time when Kohli alone guides India to victory by scoring valuable runs at crucial times to put his team above opponent every time. This thing not happening from the three years and even this year, the stylish batter found it difficult to stay at the crease.

In the July series against England, Kohli failed to leave any mark after scoring just 31 runs in 2 test innings, followed by 12 runs in two T20s, and 33 in two ODIs.

After playing the England series, Kohli opted to take rest from ODI and T20Is series against West Indies and also from 3 ODI series against Zimbabwe.

India will start their Asia Cup 2022 campaign on August 28 when they face Pakistan in the first match of group A at Dubai International Stadium.
