UAE Offers To Host The IPL 2020 Tournament, BCCI Not Decided Yet

IPL 2020 Has Supposed To Commence On March 29:

The cricketing activity around the world has been halted by the coronavirus pandemic. The possibility of conducting the Indian Premier League ( IPL 2020 ) for this year has seriously affected.

The tournament that was to start on 29 March was suspended until further notice. The BCCI has consistently confirmed that it follows the situation and is not currently in a position to make a decision.

Different speculations are created about hosting the IPL outside India even though reports on Sri Lanka have expressed their interest in hosting the tournament. While the BCCI official had rejected these claims. Arun Dhumal, its treasurer, has already stated that the UAE wishes to play T20 hosts. But he also clarified that the board did not call it.

“We wanted the United Arab Emirates to host the IPL, but at this moment there’s no question of calling on it because there are no international tours,” quoted Arun Dhumal.

He also pointed out that BCCI attaches great importance to the health and safety of stakeholders and players. He also said that international travel is not currently possible and that as of now they can not know anything.

“There is a need for health and safety for players and everyone involved. At the moment, the entire world journies have stopped, and there is nothing at this point which we can agree on, “he said.

The IPL hosting is not new to UAE. The tournament was partly moved back to India in 2014 when elections in India clashed. There were up to 20 matches in the UAE following the second phase of the tournament in India.

In the 12 year history of IPL, South Africa is the only country that hosted the tournament. Due to the elections in 2009, the whole tournament has transferred to the Rainbow country. The tournament received a great response.
