On April 18, 2008, a form of cricket was started that had the best cricketers all over the world converge for the epic battle that exceeded all barriers, named as Indian Premier League (IPL). In a few years, the craziness becomes wild, crowd-pleasing favorite reached its world-shattering peak. Each player was a star in the league.

The cash-rich tournament kicked off in Bangalore with Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. All the eight teams’ stars came for the inaugural tournament. Fans from all over the globe zoomed in to see the star cricketers in a single place.

After the Chinnaswamy Stadium was dived in darkness, a spotlight was focused on the rival skippers, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly. For the national India team, both the duo had played solid for more than a decade but this was completely new.

The final match of the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League was the battle between the giants. Both the teams, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals reached the final stage after great wins in their respective semi-final matches. The match lived up to all the expectations as it changed into a cliff hanger. But Yousuf Pathan provided another tremendous match-winning spell and help his team win the title.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to field first. Chennai at the end of 10 overs, scored 75/2. The Baroda man, Yousuf Pathan kept a tight leash on the batsmen of Chennai during the middle overs and took 3 wickets and ended with figures 4-0-22-3. Chennai finished its innings by scoring 163 runs.

Rajasthan didn’t get a good start and until 7th over, they were 42/3. Then Watson and Pathan got together and gave a 65 runs partnership which helped Rajasthan to achieve some kind of stability in the run-chase. Pathan registered another half-century but dismissed in the 18th over. Now, Rajasthan needed 21 runs to win. It could be very tough for Rajasthan but Tanvir and Warne showed their wonderful innings and eventually, Rajasthan Royals won the title on the last ball of the match. Out of the 16 matches, Rajasthan Royals was the most stable team and won 13 matches.
