Smiriti Mandhana Recalls Being Hit By Mohammed Shami Delivery

Smiriti Mandhana Recalls An Incident From The Past:

Indian women’s team opener, Smriti Mandhana, during a recent interaction, recalled the incident when she got hit by one of the deliveries from Mohammed Shami.
During his recovery time the Indian spearhead bowled to Mandhana and vowed not to bowl at his normal pace and at her body.

“I remember playing bhaiyya shami (Mohammed Shami) when he does his rehab. He was bowling to me at a speed of 120 waala (mph) and vowed not to bowl on my body,” Mandhana said to a leading sports website.

Shami went on to bowl an incoming delivery that hit Mandhana on the inner thigh, after missing out on a couple of deliveries. As a consequence, as she said in a jovial tone, the bruise Mandhana received turned ‘black, blue and green.’

“For the first two balls I was beaten, because I wasn’t used to the pace. His in-dipper struck me on my inner thigh on the third ball and it turned purple, blue, and green and was swollen for ten days, “Mandhana added.

This is not the first time an Indian cricketer spilled beans on Shami’s antics during net sessions. India’s premier opening batter Rohit Sharma also talked about Shami rubbing hands after seeing extra green and moisture on the practice pitches.

“The pitches for net sessions that we have are almost always green with humidity. And whenever Shami sees a pitch orange, he eats extra biryani! Bumrah is also hard but he’s only been around for two-three years. “Rohit said earlier.

Mohammad Shami is one of the most tricky bowlers to face during the nets, Rohit says. In addition, for hitting the maximum number of balls on the helmet, Rohit addressed the rivalry between Shami and his Mumbai Indians Teammate Jasprit Bumrah.

“Shami, I’ve played there since 2013. But hey, there needs to be a rivalry between Bumrah and Shami right now, on who beats the bat the hardest, who can hit the most on the helmets, “Rohit concluded.
