Ricky Ponting Proposes 10-Run Penalty for Non-Strikers Leaving Crease Early

How about a 10-run penalty for batsmen crawling out of their grips early? Aussie legend Ricky Ponting says that the “cheaters” will be honest. Ponting has teamed up with Indian spinner Ravi Ashwin, the main supporter of the “Mankad” in the Delhi Capitals Indian Premier League. Before arriving in India, Ponting said he was going to have a “poor talk” with Ashwin about his firm stance, with the spinner running out of England’s Jos Buttler last season as he crept up the pitch. Ponting thinks he ‘s cheating on the batsman, but he told Ashwin, in an online conversation.
