MS Dhoni’s Inputs Helped Deepak Chahar Bowl Better

The former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni threw the ball to Deepak Chahar in the IPL game, when they were playing against Kings XI Punjab who needed 39 runs in 12 balls.

Chahar bowled two back to back no balls which cost 8 runs, and Kings XI needed 31 runs off 12 balls. Captain cool walked up to Chahar and exchanged a few strong words and gave him a few inputs. It worked and CSK won that match. Now, he holds a record of taking 6 wickets for 7 which allowed India to defeat Bangladesh in the T20I series. He also became India’s first bowler to take a hat trick in T20Is.

At the end of the match in Nagpur, Chahar said,”playing in Chennai, now I have realized how to counter dew and sweat, how to keep my hands clean.”

CSK’S Bowling Coach L Balaji’s Words About Chahar’s Rise

CSK’s bowling coach L Balaji said “ but the good thing about Chahar is he is always keen to learn new things. When he joined CSK, initially he used to bowl only in the first 10 overs. But Dhoni was keen to use him in death overs, and see how well he has learned”

Balaji recollected Chahar’s performance by going back to the game in Chepauk “Dhoni told him to use slower balls and back of the length to make it tough for the batsmen. It was good to see he has learned, and he negotiated similar conditions so well.”
