IPL 2022: LSG vs RR Key Player Battles Head to Head to watch out for Today

Lucknow Super Giants vs Rajasthan Royals Key Player Battles Preview:

It is a battle between arguably two of the finest sides in the competition. Lucknow Super Giants is a team that relies on its all-round strength. They are one of the most balanced teams in this tournament. The Giants will be up against the class of Rajasthan Royals. A team that is known for its specialists. It will be a giant and a royal contest between the two sides.

We look at the LSG vs RR key player battles:

#1 KL Rahul vs Trent Boult

The last time these two sides met each other, it was Trent Boult who stole the show. Boult cleaned up KL Rahul with a special ball first up. The round wicket angle left Rahul clueless. He departed for a duck. LSG went on to lose a low-scoring game. Rahul will be eager to stamp his authority this time around. If he gets going, LSG invariably gets going. He will be up against a proven performer. The Rahul vs Boult contest will be thrilling, to say the least.

#2 Deepak Hooda vs Yuzvendra Chahal

It was Deepak Hooda who was the last man standing in LSG’s lost cause against GT. He has proven time and again that he is more than handy with the bat. Hooda is having a fantastic season at LSG. He has taken the opportunity to bat at number three with both hands. Hooda is comfortable against pace.

He is particularly severe against spin. Hooda will be LSG’s designated matchup against Yuzvendra Chahal. The wrist-spinner will be eyeing this battle closely. Chahal is a smart operator. He will try to set Hooda up with his wizardry. It will be an intriguing contest.

#3 Jos Buttler vs Mohsin Khan

If there is one uncapped bowler who has inflicted the maximum damage then that bowler is Mohsin Khan. In his Inaugural IPL season itself, Khan has been sensational. His height, bounce, seam, and swing have troubled all the batters. Khan’s left-arm angle is menacing. He often provides LSG with breakthroughs at the top.

Khan will look to have a go at Jos Buttler. The current orange cap holder has had a couple of quiet knocks. It might just be the game for him to go berserk. How Buttler handles the Khan threat will set up the game.

#4 Sanju Samson vs Avesh Khan

The RR skipper, Sanju Samson needs to step up now. Samson has had soft dismissals one too many this season. He is yet to play an impactful knock that can turn the tide in RR’s favor. LSG will use Avesh Khan in the middle overs to target Samson. Khan’s incisiveness will test Samson big time. But if RR is to make it to the next round, then they surely need a Samson special. The winner of the Samson vs Khan battle will play a crucial role in the context of this game.
