A wonderful game of cricket was played here at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, Kiwis after winning the toss decided to bowl first keeping the pitch factors in mind.
New Zealand started off pretty well with regular wickets from Boult, Southee, Lockie Ferguson, and Neesham all four of them picked up wickets early to dismantle the West Indies’ top order.
However, it was Sherfane Rutherford who remained not out until the end and helped West Indies reach a score of 149 in 20 overs. He smashed an unbeaten 68* off 39 balls with six massive sixes and two boundaries.

Even after winning the toss the Kiwis side were unable to use it to the full as they were defeated in what was a close game against the hosts West Indies. New Zealand were on point with picking up early wickets but they failed to contain Sherfane Rutherford who literally boosted the West Indies score.
West Indies almost scored 100 runs in the final 9 overs compared to their 58 runs in the first 11 overs. The lack of controlling runs at the end was the big mistake that caused New Zealand heavily in the bowling department.
