India squad for Zimbabwe T20I series: BCCI has announced the 15-member India squad for the upcoming 5-match T20 series against Zimbabwe. Shubman Gill has been named as the captain.
With the senior men are busy playing in the ongoing T20 World Cup which will concludes on June 29, and the Zimbabwe tour will start on July 6, exactly after 7 days. The BCCI has opted to give the veterans some rest before the next big assignment.

Regular skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Suryakumar Yadav are among the star players that are not part of the Zimbabwe tour. While India’s vice-captain in limited overs cricket, Hardik Pandya, also given a break.
Shubman Gill will lead the side in senior’s absence, while Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rinku Singh and Sanju Samson are among the players chosen for their international experience.

Young players who performed excellently during Indian Premier League this year have been rewarded with maiden India call-up. Riyan Parag, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Tushar Deshpande got selected for the first time.
Veteran Sanju Samson has been added to the squad as the first-choice wicketkeeper. Young wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel was also included in the squad.

The bowling line-up seems familiar with the presence of Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Washington Sundar, and Ravi Bishnoi.
Interestingly, Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh were also travelled with team India for the T20 World Cup as reserves. While Yashasvi Jaiswal, who got selected in the main squad, has not played a single game yet in the marquee event.
The first T20I of the series will take place on July 6, followed by the second on July 7, third on July 10, fourth on July 13, and the 5th and final T20I will be played on July 14. The Harare Sports Club will host all five T20Is.
