KKR has made the most expensive buy-in IPL 2022 Auctions in the form of Shreyas Iyer – where he has got a whopping price tag of Rs 12.25 Cr.
In a recent interview, the new KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer has made a big promise to all the fans and very confidently said – ‘We will win the championship’. He is currently in great with three consecutive fifties in the recent T20 series against Sri Lanka.
Speaking about his new role for KKR, Shreyas said – “I am really looking forward to being on the ground, this time representing KKR because I have always been on the opposite end and I could feel the crowd cheering for their team. This time, when I would represent you guys I hope that you guys are in the stadium and cheer for us. I am really looking forward to that excitement and see to it at the end of the day that we win the championship,”

KKR strengths
- Kolkata Knight Riders have a really good spin duo in form of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine. The spin department is a big plus for the side and no other team has such kind of strong pair in this edition. They will look to capitalize the main strength in all the league games and one more added advantage here is Narine is a dangerous batsman and he will look to score some crucial runs for the side.
- Currently, Shreyas Iyer is in terrific form and he will look to bring in the same performance to this edition. Apart from skipper duties, he will definitely eye to contribute more as a batsman.
- The new addition of the foreign player, Alex Hales can actually prove to be a trump card for them.
KKR Weaknesses
- Earlier it was Dinesh Karthik who used to do the Wicket-keeping duties for the side – But now looking at the current squad they don’t have the first-choice wicketkeeper. And this might hurt them as the tournament progresses.
- Apart from Pat Cummins, they don’t have too many bowling options in the powerplay overs. Because those limited sets of overs are very crucial to any IPL side and they need someone who can restrict the opponent batsmen with their strict line and lengths. In this segment, they are lacking very much.
