IPL Player Auction 2023: Trading Action Till Now

The most active team in the trading window was Kolkata Knight Riders, who acquired the services of all-rounder Shardul Thakur from India from Delhi Capitals, bowler Lockie Ferguson from New Zealand, and wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz from Afghanistan from reigning champion Gujarat Titans. Aman Khan was also exchanged by KKR to Delhi Capitals.

Earlier, Kieron Pollard announced his retirement from the IPL, which was a significant decision for the Mumbai Indians. The former captain of the West Indies, who played for the five-time champions for 12 incredibly successful years, will serve as their batting coach in IPL 2023. Jason Behrendorff, a left-handed bowler from Royal Challengers Bangalore, was also moved to MI.

In contrast, teams like Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Chennai Super Kings remained silent during the trading window. Continuing their trend, the Punjab Kings replaced Mayank Agarwal as captain with experienced batter Shikhar Dhawan, who will now work under head coach Trevor Bayliss.
