IPL 2023 mini auction to start with battle for Mayank Agarwal, Joe Root and Harry Brook

IPL 2023 Mini Auction: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auctions are set to enter their final stretch, and the marquee players and the franchises are getting ready to make their final moves ahead of the main event, starting in March 2023.

The IPL 2023 mini auction will set to begin at 2:30 PM IST in Kochi, with the set, including former Punjab Kings skipper Mayank Agarwal, New Zealand’s Captain Kane Williamson, famous English cricketer Joe Root and the young destructive batter Harry Brook.

Most of the players, according to franchisees, who may earn a significant amount and draw a lot of interest from different clubs, are placed in the first three sets.

A total of 405 cricketers are all set to go under the hammer at the TATA IPL 2023 Player Auction in Kochi on December 23, 2022.

From the initial list of 991 players, a total of 369 already shortlisted by 10 teams. But, a total of 405 players will be go under hammer in the TATA IPL 2023 Auction after 36 more players requested by franchises, which now added to the final list.

Out of the 405 players, 273 are Indians and 132 are from other countries, including 4 players from associate countries. As many as 119 total capped players, 286 total uncapped players, with 4 players from associate countries are there.

57 Australian players put their names among the overseas players, followed by 52 South Africans and 33 West Indies players.

A large number of well-known players, including Joe Root, Adil Rashid, and Cameron Green, have already declared that they will be a part of the IPL 2023 mini auction.

IPL 2023 Mini Auction: What are the categories of the players?

The players are categorized into bands:

The highest reserve band is INR 2 crore, with 19 players from abroad chosen to be a part in the top category.

1 Crore Rs band

50 lakh band

11 players are part of a starting bid of INR 1.5 crore in the auction list.

The 2 cricketers from India among 20 players with base price of 1 crore are Manish Pandey and Mayank Agarwal.

In contrast to the 2022 mega auction, which required the 10 teams to build their squads from scratch, this year’s mega auction will be a small one.

The franchises already retained the core members of their team through retention. And now they intend to add more firepower to it during the auction.
