After a crucial 5-wicket haul in the first innings, the 34-year-old all-rounder racked up an illustrious ton in the second innings against England in the second Test. The Chennai pitch which was termed as ‘too difficult’ by the experts, didn’t seem to bother the local boy too much. R Ashwin’s exploits played a gutsy knock of 106 runs off just 148 bowls which included 14 fours and a single six.
