Ali Khan, KKR pacer:
Ali Khan has become the 1st player, who is from the USA and picked by an IPL franchise. But as per the reports, Ali Khan being ruled out of the 13th edition of IPL because of an injury.
Ali Khan was brought by Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement for Harry Gurney a week before the 2020 IPL.
The IPL website confirmed the reports by mentioning Ali Khan’s name on players’ list who have been ruled out of the 2020 IPL.
IPL website stated “Earlier, KKR had taken Ali Khan as a replacement of injured English pacer Harry Gurney. Ali Khan is the first player of the USA, taken by the IPL franchise. But unfortunately, Khan is injured and has to miss the remaining tournament”.
As per the media report, Ali Khan has suffered from a side injury. He is undergoing rehab and later continues to participate in the tournament.
Ali Khan’s entry to IPL:
Ali Khan is known for his fast bowling and for his Yorkers, especially in the slog overs. Ali Khan joined KKR due to his successful performance with Trinbango Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
In the CPL, he played 18 T20I matches include his 1st appearance in 2016 for Guyana Amazon Warriors, and there he claimed 17 wickets at an economy rate of 8.77, an average of 27.65, and a strike rate of 19.59.
Kolkata Knight Riders, who will lock its horns with Chennai Super Kings today is currently placed at the fourth position in the IPL points table with two victories and two losses.
