2020 IPL: KKR vs CSK: CSK Bowl Out KKR For 167 Runs

The 21st match of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is going on at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. KKR has not changed in its squad that was beat by Delhi capitals (DC) in the last match, whereas CSK replaces Piyush Chawla with Karn Sharma from the team which defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 10 wickets.

So let’s begin with the 1st innings.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won the toss and chose to bat first. But in the fifth over only, Shardul Thakur was able to take the first blood for CSK as he dismissed Shubhman Gill for just 11 runs. In the 9th over, leg-spinner Karn Sharma took his 1st wicket of this season as he took down Nitesh Rana. Rana has scored only 9 runs and back to the pavilion.

The opening batsman of Kolkata Knight Riders, Rahul Tripathi tried to hold the innings and made his 1st half-century for his franchise. In 4 overs, Karn Sharma performed outstandingly and took 2 wickets by conceding 25 runs. He cleared off two important players of KKR, Sunil Narine, who scored 17 runs, and Nitish Rana, who scored only 9 runs.

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo was in his best on his birthday, took three wickets. Shardul Thakur, Sam Curran, and Karn Sharma provided all support and picked two wickets each.

From the KKR side, opening batsman Rahul Tripathi was the highest scorer, registered 81 runs, which is his fifth half-century in the IPL. Other than Rahul, Pat Cummins, the second-highest run-getter (17), and  Sunil Narine, no other batsmen made their presence felt in the crease.

Finally, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has been bowled out for only167 runs by Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
