Stand To Be Named After Azharuddin In Rajiv Gandhi Stadium

Mr. John Manoj, the Vice President of HCA, has said that a stand would be named after Mr. Mohammed Azharuddin, who was recently elected as the president of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal.

This decision would be taken in a meeting of the apex body of the HCA.

Manoj said, “We have also decided to honor former and late joint secretary R. Dayanand by naming a lounge at the South Pavilion block after him for his contribution to Hyderabad cricket.”

“In the coming days, we will ensure that all those who represented India from Hyderabad, including Arshad Ayub and S.L. Venkatapathi Raju, are duly recognized,” he added

On Thursday, HCA president has said that they are very excited to host the first T20I of India vs West Indies at the Rajiv Gandhi international cricket stadium on December 6.

It will be the first big assignment for Azharuddin as the chief of HCA and he said that with the help of the experienced office bearers, they were confident of hosting the big match smoothly.

“This is my first experience of hosting an international match as an administrator and I am grateful to all the members of the HCA for extending complete support in my endeavor to make this a big success,” Azharuddin said.
