ENG VS PAK: Pakistan is hit by another blow! The pacer, Haris Rauf won’t be playing in the second Test in Multan. The 29-year-old, who is currently playing England in a Test match, stepped on the ball while fielding and suffered a right quad injury.
Rauf is set to miss the remainder of the game after leaving for MRI scans. He did not bowl after batting in the opening innings. He had a dismal debut and was the most costly fast bowler on an opening day, giving up 78 runs in 13 overs.

The possibility of Pakistan calling up a fast bowler from outside the initial 18-man roster for the series opens up because to Rauf’s injury and Shaheen Afridi’s absence this series. The only other expert in that group is Wasim Jr., although Pakistan has possibilities outside of those ranks in Hasan Ali and Mohammad Abbas.

With four new caps awarded in Rawalpindi, Wasim’s participation would mark yet another debut for a Pakistani player this series. The expertise that people like Abbas and Hasan offer may be elements supporting their participation. Both Mohammad Ali and Zahid Mahmood played poorly, with the leg spinner Mahmood handing out the highest debutant run total of 235 runs in the first innings. But he did manage to get four wickets.
That makes a like-for-like replacement for Rauf plausible, but it is still unclear if Pakistan will decide to enter their second straight Test without a proven allrounder. Both Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Nawaz are on the team, and choosing one of them will usually change the balance of the team in Multan. Pakistan sent four specialized bowlers to Rawalpindi, but this prolonged a tail that included Rauf himself at No. 8, Naseem, Ali, and Mahmood behind him.

Pakistan came in to bat on Day 5 to bat with 3 wickets lost at 93. Things were looking interesting in the middle when the team needed 86 runs to win the match with 5 wickets remaining. But, Robinson struck and changed the game for England.
