Southern Brave Beat Trent Rockets To Reach The Final of The Women’s Hundred League

It was a nail-biting finish by the Southern Brave side as they stop the Trent Rockets side from chasing down the target, Southern Brave won the match by 2 runs to reach the final of the Women’s Hundred league.

After winning the toss Trent Rockets Women’s side decided to bowl first. Sothern brave lost their openers very quick and the Sothern side failed to score big runs at the start of the innings but Tahlia McGrath scored 31 from 29 balls, M Bouchier scored 29 runs from 24 balls and Adams was the highest 38 runs from 24 balls helping Southern Brave side set up a target of 134 for six wickets in Hundred balls.

Trent Rockets side bowled pretty well and tried their best to restrict Southern side for a low score, Bryony Smith and Georgia Davis picked up two wickets each. Trent Rockets restricted the Southern side for 134 for six wickets in hundred balls.

In reply Trent Rockets Women’s team started their batting pretty well where skipper Villani and N Sciver played well, Sciver scored a magnificent 72 runs from 36 balls, She tried her best to help the Rockets side to victory but on the other side wickets were crumbling and the pressure was building on Sciver, even though Sciver scored a half-century it was not enough for the Rockets to win the match.

The southern side bowled pretty well, where Adams and Tahlia McGrath picked up two wickets each helping the Southern Brave side to restrict Rockets to 132 for seven wickets in hundred balls.

It was so close that the Rockets side lost the match by 2 runs, rockets fought until the end but everything went in vain when they lost the match, Southern side was almost on the losing note but somehow managed to pull off a victory and reach the finals of the women’s Hundred league.

Tahlia McGrath won the player of the match award for her amazing batting and bowling performance which helped the Southern Brave side to reach the final.

McGrath after winning the player of the match award said that “My heart rate is about 600 at this moment. Very tough to bowl to Sciver. I had no idea what I was doing, I stuffed up three balls and got it done. I thought it was a bump ball and didn’t celebrate. Bit of a fluke [on the return catch]. Losing three ones early wasn’t early. We got a competitive total and are happy to defend it. Very excited to play at Lord’s. The Ageas Bowl has been amazing. They look after us every time we are here.”

Now Southern Brave will play the Women’s final on Saturday at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
