Manchester Originals Reach Men’s Hundred Final After Defeating London Sprit

Manchester Originals beat London Sprits by five wickets to reach the final of the Men’s Hundred tournament, this is a fifth straight victory for the Manchester side after losing the first three matches.

London Sprit won the toss and decided to bat first, In came A Rossington, and Zak Crawley to open the innings for the London Sprit side, Joshua Little bowled an amazing delivery to dismiss A Rossington for a duck, Even with the fall of early wicket Zak and Ben carried the innings forwards with 69 run partnership.

Zak Crawley was dismissed after scoring 36 runs from 23 balls with six fours, on the other hand, Ben McDermott scored a half-century and later fell prey to P Walter after scoring 59 runs in 38 balls.

Bowlers had their ups and down in the innings where Joshua Little and Matthew Parkinson picked up two wickets each, and P Walter picked up a three-wicket hall to boost the Manchester side to restrict London Sprit for 150/7 in hundred balls.

In reply, Manchester opened their innings with in-form batsman Phillip Salt and Laurie Evans, Manchester had a plan where Laurie Evans was hitting big and scoring boundaries, while Salt on the other hand was rotating the strike creating huge pressure on London Sprit bowlers.

Both the openers scored 101 run partnership giving the Manchester side the much-needed start to the innings, Salt scored 29 runs from 18 balls and Laurie Evans scored 72 runs from 24 balls, after the dismissal of Phillip Salt Manchester lost two quick wickets.

Three wickets inside 10 balls gave the London side a much-needed comeback but it was too late for them to make a comeback as Turner and Lammonby made sure that Manchester crossed the line. Nathan Ellis and Mason Crane picked up two wickets for the London side but was not enough for the London spirit to win the match.

After losing the first three matches Manchester Originals have bounced back strong and harder by winning the next five consecutive matches to reach the final of the Men’s Hundred League.

Manchester Originals will now play the final on Saturday at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
