BCCI Declines Yuvraj Singh’s Request To Return From Retirement

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh called it a quits from International cricket in 2019 after a blistering career of 19 years. The 39-year-old decided to retire from India in order to participate in the Global T20 Canada league. However, Yuvraj Singh recently decided to come out of his retirement to play for Punjab in domestic cricket. The southpaw wished to lead the youngsters in Punjab state team.

BCCI has declined Yuvraj Singh’s comeback request

The 2011 World Cup winning all-rounder made his mind to return to competitive cricket as he was also included in the probables list of the Punjab team in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. The T20 league is ready to commence from January 10, 2021 which will go on till January 31st. As reported by Time of India, Yuvraj Singh appealed to the BCCI president Saurav Ganguly to overturn his retirement. However, BCCI have turned down Yuvraj Singh’s request to make a domestic comeback, for reasons unknown.

Yuvraj Singh was one of the leading figure in India’s glories in recent years. He propelled well under the captaincy of MS Dhoni in the 2007 and 2011 World Cups, where he played match-innings knocks to carry his country towards victory. At one point during his career, Yuvraj Singh was tipped to be the best all-rounder in the world of cricket. Yuvraj Singh has played 58 T20 internationals where has scored 1177 runs at a strike rate of 136.38. Yuvraj Singh’s highest score in T20 format is 77*. Yuvraj Singh has also picked 28 wickets at an economy of 7.06 and with the best bowling figures of 3/17.

Mandeep Singh named as Punjab’s captain in SMAT 2021

The 29-year-old batsman gathered a lot of praise for his decent knocks in the latest edition of the Dream11 Indian Premier League. Mandeep Singh scored a total of 130 runs in 7 IPL games this season.
