The consolation game of Asia Cup 2022, where India and Afghanistan meet to decide which team will end up at the last spot of Super 4 is ongoing.
It is Afghanistan who won the toss and elected to field first. Bringing India to bat where we saw change in openers and an unexpected omission of Rohit Sharma the captain. There is also inclusion of Ashwin, Deepak Chahar and Dinesh Karthik in the team. India has scored 87 runs in first 10 overs without loss of any wicket.
During the first six of the over, there was a little discomfort early on in the batters KL and Kohli but once they got comfortable, there was no going back. They hit Afghan bowlers for good runs and it was something to watch. It was not the big hit ransom but good cricketing shots we expect from the batters. The class got us mesmerised.
The sixth over of the innings was bowled by Mujeeb who got hit for massive 15 runs from therl over. It was something to watch in the confidence of both the players. The 8th over was bowled by Nabi where there was a chance to catch out for Kohli but it was a miss and the shot went for a six. 11 runs came in this over.
Rashid bowled the 9th over and was hit for 8 runs. Nabi continued his spell and bowled the 10th over. He couldn’t break India’s momentum as he conceded 7 runs from the over.
The run rate at the end of 10 overs is 8.70. Projected score at this rate is 170+. Team India is playing great cricket. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are at the crease.
