“We Miss Him A Lot,” Says Chahal About Dhoni

Chahal Hosts A Talk Show:

After winning the second T20I match in India’s ongoing tour of NewZealand in Auckland, the Indian team has now arrived at Hamilton. The third T20I will be played in Hamilton on 29th January.

The Indian spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, conducted a talk show when the whole team was traveling from Auckland to Hamilton on the bus with his teammates. The show is the latest trending episode of Chahal TV.

During the bus journey, Chahal, addressing different players of the team, also recollected memories with India’s legendary wicket-keeper and batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Dhoni, the former captain, because of his training for the parachute cadre of the Indian army in Kashmir Valley had avoided playing in the West Indies tour last year. Dhoni had last played competitive cricket in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

While it is not known as to why Dhoni missed the home T20Is against South Africa, he is reported to have said that he would let fans know about his return to game only in January 2020.

Recently, Dhoni was trending in the news because his name was absent in the list of yearly contracted Indian players.

No One Sits Here Right Now:

In that video, Chahal who was sitting in the last row of the bus shows where Dhoni used to sit. Chahal, the leg-break bowler, later informed that nobody in the present team sits on the seat despite his absence all these months.

“Yeh woh seat hai jaha ek legend baithte they, Mahi bhai [MS Dhoni]. Abhi bhi yaha koi nahi baithta. Hum unhe bohot miss kate hai [this is the seat where our legend used to sit. No other players are sitting here now. We all miss him a lot]” Chahal was cited as saying in that video.

Dhoni still has a huge fan base. He is the top-ranked sportsman in India. The veteran is most likely to make his first appearance this year in the Indian Premier League, which begins on March 24.
