India Lose Top Spot In ICC Test Ranking For First Time Since 2016

In The Latest ICC Test Rankings, Australia Have Climbed To No.1:

In nearly four years since the cricket parent body revealed the new classification on Friday. The Virat Kohli led Indian cricket team has been removed from the top spot in the ICC test classification. Since October 2016, India has been the top spot. 

In the latest update, which scores all matches played since May 2019 to 100% and those played during the previous two years to 50%. Australia (116) took the lead in the ICC men’s test team rankings From India. New Zealand (115) still in the second position. India with 114 points, stands in third place.

With just two points separating them, this is the second nearest the top three teams have been since the 2003 start of the Test rankings. In January 2016, India led Australia and South Africa by a single point, the nearest among the top three teams.

India Had Won 12 Tests And Lost Just One Test in 2016-17:

In 2016-17 India won 12 Tests and lost just one Test, whose records have been deleted during the latest update. All five series, including Australia and England, were won during this time. On the other side, at the same time, Australia lost both to South Africa and India.

South Africa has experienced the biggest eight-point drop, which falls them to the sixth position below Sri Lanka. During that time they had won three series and lost eight of their nine trials during Sri Lanka, India, and England since February 2019.

The League, consisting of six series played by each of the Top Nine Test teams, still leads India to the ICC world test championship.

In the ODI team rankings of the ICC Men’s, England’s (127) have lifted their lead from 6 to 8 points over India. New Zealand remains third place, 3 points behind India. Rankings at the top ten remain unchanged.
