Coronavirus Should Be Eradicated For Cricket To Resume – Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh’s Take On Cricket During Corona Times:

Former India star Yuvraj Singh is of the opinion that for cricket to resume, the environment should be COVD-19 free as the health and welfare of the players should be paramount for the game’s custodians. Unlike other sports, it has also affected international and domestic cricket, prompting the national boards to consider resuming the game in vacant grounds, without fans. “My own opinion is that we need to protect our countries first, the planet from coronavirus,” Yuvraj said to a leading sports website.

“It needs to be completely eradicated or reduced by 90-95 per cent because if it continues to increase, the players will be afraid to get out onto the road, go to the field, go to the dressing rooms or change rooms,” he added.

The hero of the 2011 World Cup thinks that a player has to deal with an extreme burden while on the field and worrying about the virus would take the attention away from the game emphasis.

“When you put on your gloves, you sweat, you bat, and you want to eat a banana, but some other guy catches the banana, and you ‘I don’t think I’m going to eat that banana,'” said Yuvraj.

“When playing, you don’t want those questions in your head. You need to concentrate on the game, and so on. That’s my view, the world should feel free to discuss that,” he added.
