WTC: Top Ten Batting Strike Rates

Batters with the highest strike rates in WTC: Test batting has undergone a massive transformation in the past few years. Deep bowling lineups and hostile pitches have forced batters to take different options. The focus is now on scoring runs as compared to spending time in the middle. Batters with high strike rates are able to transfer the pressure back on the opposition.

We look at the top ten list of batters with the highest strike rates in WTC:

#10 Litton Das – 58.22

He is the only Bangladeshi batter on this list. Litton Das likes to take on bowling in the longest format of the game. He has notched up 1,441 runs in 19 Tests at a strike rate of 58.22.

#9 Joe Root – 58.26

He is the highest run-getter in the WTC. Joe Root is also one of the fastest scores in the championship. He has accumulated 3,693 runs at a strike rate of 58.26.

#8 Zak Crawley – 59.33

England has shown a lot of faith in Zak Crawley despite his failures. He has reaped the faith in the bazball era scoring 1,637 runs in 29 Tests at a strike rate of 59.33.

#7 Ben Stokes – 59.84

He has transformed the England Test side. Ben Stokes through bazball has provided a new narrative to Test cricket. He has scored 2,306 runs in 36 Tests at a strike rate of 59.84.

#6 Ollie Pope – 60.16

He has finally solved England’s number 3 problem in Tests. Ollie Pope has scored 2,508 runs in 36 Tests at a strike rate of 60.16. He is sixth on the list of highest strikers in WTC.

#5 David Warner – 60.80

The Australian opener’s Test future is on the brink. David Warner has sounded his plan to retire in Sydney later this year. He has scored 1,848 runs in 31 Tests in WTC at a strike rate of 60.80.

#4 Niroshan Dickwella – 61.32

He might not be the most consistent when it comes to scoring runs but he sure scores it quickly across formats. Niroshan Dickwella has struck at 61.32 in 21 Tests aggregating 1,067 runs.

#3 Jonny Bairstow – 63.85

He was the first English batter to embrace the new aggressive approach completely. Jonny Bairstow since 2022 has been a totally different Test batter. He has scored 1,754 runs in 26 Tests at a strike rate of 63.85.

#2 Travis Head – 69.28

He has been batting on a different level since the 2021-22 Ashes. Travis Head has taken the attack to the opposition in his new avatar. He has scored 1,929 runs at a strike rate of 69.28.

#1 Rishabh Pant – 73.56

He has been India’s MVP in Tests right since he made his Test debut in 2018. Rishabh Pant in his brief career has already won Test matches for his side singlehandedly. He is top of the charts in WTC when it comes to batting strike rate (73.56). Pant has scored 1,575 runs in 24 Tests.
