Each franchise expects to generate at least $1 billion in income by BCCI. The base price for the close bid may be 400 Crore. Player purse in the 35–40 Crore range for each team. BCCI’s tender for Media Rights is also all set.

The women’s IPL franchises and the broadcast rights are to be in a sale by the board through a close bid process. The e-auction module will not come to use. This is in contrast to the IPL and other BCCI rights.

Each franchise would presumably have a starting price of Rs. 400 crore. The franchise tender paperwork will be available once the media rights tender is done. The BCCI is thinking on two strategies. One is to sell WIPL teams according to zones. Second is host the matches at locations other than IPL ones.

With the sale of these five franchises, the BCCI may seek to raise anywhere between Rs 6,000 and Rs 8000 crore (about $1 billion).
