Cricket Australia shared a 30-minute special Q&A session between all-time batting greats – Virat Kohli and Steve Smith- on Wednesday, December 16. During the session, Smith asked Kohli to reveal his personal favorite ODI knock of all time.

India skipper Virat Kohli recalled his iconic 133 run knocks against Sri Lanka in Hobart during the 2012 Commonwealth Bank Series. The Men in Blue not only needed to win the match but also needed to gain a bonus point to stay alive in the competition. But to everyone’s utter shock, India chased down the mammoth total of 320 inside 37 overs thanks to Virat Kohli’s knock of 133 off just 86 balls.
2. 183 against Pakistan, 2012
Virat Kohli smashed his highest ODI score of 183 against Pakistan as a 23-year-old back in 2012 chasing a huge total of 330 runs. There were innings before this where Kohli had shown he was an exceptional talent but on 18th March 2012 in Dhaka, the Chase Master was born. Kohli smashed 22 boundaries and one six over the park.
During the chat with Smith, the Indian skipper described the innings as one of his all-time best in ODI cricket. In the T20s, Kohli named his unbeaten, match-winning, and 2016 World T20 semi-final spot sealing 82* off 51 balls against the Australians as his best innings in the format. India had been set a target of 161, and they were fading away at 94 for 4 in the 14th over. The required run-rate had hit double-digits as early as the 10th over, but Kohli took it head-on and did so by trusting his game. The game was packed up with five balls to spare and Kohli, who was at the non-strikers’ end simply raised his hands in victory and fell to his knees with nothing more than a smile.
