Starc To Leave SA Tour To Watch Wife In T20 World Cup Final

Starc Will Be Unavailable:

To watch his wife Alyssa Healy in the final match of ICC Women’s World Cup, Mitchel Starc will not be available on the third and final ODI match of Australia against South Africa, which is scheduled to be played in Potchefstroom on 7th March (Saturday).

Healy is one of the most important wicketkeeper-batter of the Australia Women’s cricket team. On Sunday, Australia is going to play the final match against India at the MCG. The hosts and four times champion Australia would be aiming to defend their world championship title against the first- time finalist India.

The Statement of Justin Langer:

Justin Langer, head coach of Australia said that “ this is a lifetime opportunity for Mitch Starc to watch Alyssa Healy in a home World Cup final match and we are very happy to allow him to come back home to support his wife in this important match and be a part of a special occasion. Also, he added that this come back will help him rejuvenate ahead of the New Zealand series.

“Both we have been discussing this for a long time and this summer, Mitch Starcis going to handle less workload in all three formats. His returning home some days before ahead of the remaining squad give him a very good chance to rejuvenate to play T20 internationals against the team of New Zealand.”

He also added that apart from Starc, the team has many fast bowlers to play here in South Africa such as Jhye Richardson, Josh Hazlewood, and Kane Richardson, who were not involved in the last match in Bloemfontein and the unavailability of Starc will provide them a chance to amaze in Saturday’s match.

In the three-match ODI series of Australia and South Africa, South Africa is already leading in 2-0. In Paarl, SA has registered a 74 win and in Bloemfontein, six-wicket win. So, in the final match let’s see what will be going to happen.
