SL Vs PAK 1st Test Day 4 Match Highlights: Pakistan need 120, Sri Lanka 7 wickets away to win series opener

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 1st Test Day 4 Match Highlights:

1st TEST • Galle

SriLanka– 222 & 337
Pakistan– 218 & 222/3 (85 ov, T:342)

Stumps Day 4 – Pakistan need 120 runs.

Amidst the chaos, Sri Lanka Cricket is spreading a great distraction to the country’s cricket fans as they play against Pakistan. The first test started with great competition from both sides and finally is coming towards an end and we are all excited to learn what happened on day 4!

Pakistan will consider themselves somewhat ahead of Sri Lanka in the match as they enter the final day requiring an additional 120 runs to win and Sri Lanka needing 7 wickets. Shafique was the standout performer. He set to work after being fortunate to have a close LBW decision go in his favor early in his innings. He displayed a lot of patience while also taking on any loose balls as he scored a magnificent fourth innings Test hundred, his second in Tests.

Imam was dismissed for 6, and Azhar Ali was cheaply eliminated for the second time in the match for 35 runs. Babar then joined as an ideal foil, even as Sri Lanka reeled the ball away. He played a crucial knock of 55 runs before getting dismissed. As of now, Abdullah Shafique is batting on 112 while Mohammad Rizwan has joined him in the middle and is playing at 7.

The pitch was clearly softening up since there was no real strong turn or bounce for the spinners, and they appeared less effective. Before Jayasuriya cleaned up Babar over the rough, mistakes started to show up and it appeared as though the pair would remain unblemished for the day.

It will be interesting to see what happens on Day 5. This looks like a complete game of cricket where both the teams got the chance to bat twice. It will be Srilanka’s effort to remove the remaining 7 wickets. Pakistan will hope to carry momentum from today’s game and continue their strong batting performance.

We’re in for an exciting final day now that the second new ball has been taken and the pitch has begun to react to the hardness of the ball. The hosts are aware that they need one more wicket to start Pakistan’s inexperienced and unskilled middle and lower order.
