With less than two weeks until the commencement of the Asia Cup 2023, which will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, an unusual occurrence has come to light. Mohammad Naim Sheikh, Bangladesh’s standout opener, has taken an unusual route in his quest for mental strength and tournament fitness.  

In a viral video, Bangladesh batter Mohammad Naim Sheikh can be seen engaging in intense training to preparation for the continental event.

Many players use unconventional tactics to prepare for major tournaments, with Naim Sheikh’s preparation stunt being one of them.  

The tournament will begin on August 30 in Multan, Pakistan, with a match between Pakistan and Nepal. One of the most anticipated matches will take place on September 2nd in Kandy, Sri Lanka, between archrivals India and Pakistan. India will play Nepal at the same venue on September 4. 

Bangladesh is grouped with Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in Group B. The team will open the Asia Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka at Kandy on August 31. The experienced Shakib Al Hasan has been named the skipper of the side for the crucial tournament before the World Cup 2023. 

Pakistan will host three group stage matches and one Super Four event. The rest of the event will take place in Sri Lanka. The final will take held in Colombo on September 17.    

The top two teams from each group will compete in the Super Four stage. In the Super Four stage, each team will meet each other once. The top two teams from the Super Four stage will compete in the final.
