The Major League Cricket (MLC) is ready to see the light of the day. It has been in the works since 2019 and finally, in 2023 the tournament is all set to commence. A six-team league will see the game spreading its wings in the yet untapped market of the USA. The tournament is expected to expand to 8 teams in the coming few years. Four of the six teams have an IPL influence. The KKR group owns the Los Angeles team. MI, CSK, and DC are complete or part owners of other teams in the MLC.
Team preview: TSK
TSK has a 17-member squad with a strong influence of the CSK factor. Dwayne Bravo who is the bowling coach of CSK will play for TSK. Faf du Plessis will lead the side in the tournament. Stephen Fleming will continue to coach the Super Kings franchise. The Grand Prairie Stadium is the home ground of TSK. It has a capacity of 7,200 with the capability to accommodate 15,000 members in the future. They will operate from Grand Prairie, Texas.
Team preview: LAKR
The Los Angeles Knight Riders have an 18-member squad synonymous with the KKR brand. Sunil Narine, the KKR veteran has been appointed as the captain. It is a reward for his loyalty. Phil Simmons will serve as the head coach of the franchise. The Great Park Cricket Stadium will be the team’s home ground for the tournament. It boasts a capacity of 10,000. They will operate from Irvine, California.

The first game of MLC will see the Texas Super Kings go head-to-head against the Los Angeles Knight Riders. Both teams have a presence of quality players in their ranks. There are seasoned professionals along with players from the home country who are part of both sides. 7 out of the 17 players from TSK are foreign nationals. Rusty Theron, Milind Kumar, and Sami Aslam are a few of the popular domestic players.
