Gautam Gambhir is set to play in the Second Edition of Legends League Cricket

The second season of the legends league cricket 2022 (LLC) is been scheduled on 15th September at Eden Garden, the match will be dedicated to the 75th year of the Independence Day celebration.

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir is all set to play the Legends League Cricket in September for the Indian Maharajas.

The Indian Maharajas will be playing their first match against World Giants, Sourav Ganguly who is the captain of the Indian Maharajas will face Eoin Morgen who is the captain of World Giants.

Gautam Gambhir was not included in the seventeen-man squad announced on the 15th of September but earlier today he was included in the squad for season two of the legends League Cricket.

Gambhir played a crucial role in the final and also in the tournament where the Indian side manage to lift the World Cup in 2011 after 28 long years. Gambhir has played 147 matches for India and scored 5238 runs in the ODI and in tests he has played 58 matches and scored 4154 runs.

Gautam Gambhir in a recent statement said that “I am glad to share that I have committed to take part in the upcoming legends league cricket 2022 from September 17th onwards. I am excited in anticipation of being on a cricket field once again. It will be a privilege and an honor to rub shoulders once again with the glitterati of world cricket.”

Gambhir retired from all formats of cricket on 3rd December 2018, he announced his retirement before his last Ranji Trophy game for Delhi where he played against the Andhra Cricket team and scored 112 in his final innings marking the 43rd and last century of his cricket career.

Players from almost ten different countries will be participating in the second season, where the matches will be played this season. Four teams will play against each other for the Legends League Cricket.

The league also included players from Pakistan, and the event managers received a lot of backlash for involving players from Pakistan. The Pakistani players are not allowed to play in the Indian Premier League and this competition will help people see their favorite retried cricketers play once again.

The first season of the Legends League Cricket was played earlier this year in January at Muscat, but this time it is different, the competition will be conducted in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
