IND vs ZIM Highlights: In a shocking game of cricket, the home side Zimbabwe managed to give a tough fight to the Indian team in the first T20I here in Harare. Even though this was not the main Indian team, Zimbabwe who were not even part of the T20 World Cup successfully defeated India. The home side created history by defeating India by 13 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series. It was a complete batting collapse from the Indian side, even though the target was just 116.
After winning the toss Indian skipper Shubman Gill opted to bowl first and they were absolutely on point with their bowling as the Indian bowlers did not allow the Zimbabwe batter to settle down. The whole Zimbabwe side was closed down to 115/9 in 20 overs.
The Zimbabwe wicketkeeper Clive Madande was the highest run scorer for Zimbabwe with 29 runs from 25 balls. It was the star spinner Ravi Bishnoi who bowled an absolute peacher of a spell to pick up four wickets in four overs and conceded just 13.

Given the fact that the Indian team has recently won the T20 World Cup, the main team was given rest and Shubman Gill was given the opportunity to lead the side filled with youngsters. With 16 runs needed in the final over Washington Sundar tried to hold the Nevers for India but unfortunately, he was unable to score 16 runs in the final over, thus allowing Zimbabwe to win the game by 13 runs.

While Wellington Masakadza, Brian Bennett, Blessing Muzarabani, and Luke Jongwe all picked up one wicket each to restrict India from chasing 115 in 20 overs. Washington Sundar played a brilliant fighting innings until the very end but was only able to take India to 102/9 in 20 overs.

A match that Zimbabwe will never forget as they beat the World Champions on the home ground to show some kind of redemption for not being part of the T20 World Cup.
