Future Plans of New Head Coach

Currently engaged in a five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series in Zimbabwe, the Indian team’s next assignment is a series against Sri Lanka, where new head coach Gautham Gambhir will make his debut. However, before that can happen, the series board must get to work on the employment of more coaches.

Additionally, it has been stated that the board intends to give Gambhir total control over the choice of selected support personnel. Since Gambhir was a superb opening batsman in his playing career, it’s possible that no batting coach would be appointed.

Gautham Gambhir’s Current Salary as New Head Coach of Indian Cricket Team

Gautam Gambhir is expected to earn significantly more than his IPL mentor salary of Rs. 25 crore. Rahul Dravid, who recently concluded his coaching tenure, reportedly earned Rs. 12 crore annually. Gambhir’s potential earnings reflect the greater responsibility and demands of coaching the national team compared to his IPL role.

While the exact figure remains undisclosed due to sensitivity issues, reports suggest it could be on par with his IPL earnings. Even earlier there was a delay in official confirmation from BCCI where it was certain that the amount is higher and that is why negotiation took time.

Starting his assignment against Sri Lanka, Gautham Gambhir will be poised to make a statement. His previous record as a player and as a coach is undeniable, moreover his strategic brilliance is unmatched. So let’s hope that under Gautham Gambhir’s guidance, India will lift multiple ICC trophies.
