IPL: We Are Really Proud Of Gaikwad For His Progress- Fleming

Ruturaj Gaikwad stole the show in the encounter between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR). The CSK opener hit a brilliant 101* off 60, helping the MS Dhoni-led team record a total of 189/4 on the scoreboard. Here is about what Fleming Speaks On Gaikwad.

Head Coach of the CSK team, Stephen Fleming has described Gaikwad’s strike as “magnificent.” Fleming said that Gaikwad’s effort was of the highest calibre, and that the CSK team would appreciate Gaikwad’s brilliance even if it came in a hopeless cause.

Fleming also stated that Gaikwad’s standards were always considerable and that others have just recently begun to see the 24-year- old potential.

“It was a magnificent innings. It is not often that you have a centurion in your side and you come away with a loss. We will be a bit flat around that but the team will celebrate an individual performance that was of high class”.

“It’s another continuation of the young man’s journey. Our expectations have always been very high. Others are just starting to realize why we have such high regard for him. We are really proud of him and are really pleased with his progress. The way he is playing is outstanding,” said Fleming after the match.

That was a good learning curve: Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad stated that he did not expect to score a hundred, but he would have like to be on the winning streak. Gaikwad continued by noting that he learned the value of hard effort when he was not a member of the CSK playing XI.

“Didn’t dream of a 100, aim was to make sure we get to 160-170. Would’ve loved to be on the winning side, maybe next time. My selection in CSK in 2019 when I didn’t get a chance, being in the dressing room, I got to learn a lot. Got to know routines, hard work needed, work to put in. That was a good learning curve,” concluded Ruturaj Gaikwad.
