IPL 2023: Punjab Kings formerly known as Kings XI Punjab has decided to part way with their current coach Anil Kumble. He was the coach for the past three seasons and was not successful in making a mark thus the Punjab Kings have decided to let Anil Kumble leave as his contract expires in September 2022.

As per multiple reports, the current head coach Anil Kumble will be replaced by some other person as the management is not happy with the results under Kumble’s rein as a coach.

Anil Kumble’s record as a head coach in three years where he was only able to win 19 matches and lost 23 matches in a total of 42 matches with a win percentage of less than 50%. Punjab Kings have not reached a playoff stage since 2014 and Punjab finished outside the top four last year too.

All the stats and the fan’s request have influenced Punjab Kings Management to parting ways with Kumble and it would be a better idea, where the board can find a new replacement that would be better for the future of the franchise.

The Punjab side is now on the hunt for a new Head coach who can guide them in the proper direction towards the title. The recent reports suggest that former England Captain Eoin Morgan is in the contest to be the next head coach of the Punjab side, Eoin Morgan was also the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) where he lead his side to the final of the 2021 Indian Premier League.

The Punjab Kings are also considering the move for former England Coach Trevor Bayliss who coached the England side from 2015 to 2019. There are even looking at other Indian options, but Eoin Morgen certainly looks favorite to be signed as the head coach for the 2023 season. The management needs time to react and they will have to react quickly if they want to get a good coach before the next IPL 2023 season starts.

Kumble will look for other options but first, he will take a break spend some family time and then will decide on his future.
