On the second day of the fourth Test against England, India scored 219 for seven at stumps, trailing by 134 runs at Ranchi on Saturday. England were all out for 353 in their first innings earlier in the day, having resumed from 302 for seven the night before.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the home team’s in-form young opener, led the way with 73 off 117 balls in the first innings. Dhruv Jurel (30) and Kuldeep Yadav (17) were undefeated at stumps as India recovered from 177/7

Off-spinner Shoaib Bashir stood out among England’s bowlers, finishing with statistics of 4/84. For England, Joe Root stayed unbeaten on 122 after ending his poor run with the bat, While Ollie Robinson contributed 58. Ravindra Jadeja picked up 4/67, and pacer Akash Deep took 3/83 in an outstanding debut
