The dominant performance by Indian spin bowlers saw India take a 1-0 lead in the two-match test series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday. Let us look at IND Vs BAN 1st Test Highlights in detail.

Axar Patel bagged 4 wickets in the second innings, while Kuldeep Yadav grabbed 3 to restrict the hosts to 324 and hand India a 188-run victory in the first test match.

The visitors displayed a full dominating performance in the test, having scored 400-plus runs in the first innings, and their bowlers took 20 wickets during the 5-day game.

Kuldeep Yadav recorded a fifer in the process. His magical spell during the 1st innings helped India to bowl out Bangladesh on just 150 that provided visitors an advantage and as a result, KL Rahul-side won the game.

Batting first, India faced a dreary start in their first innings, as they lost their top 3 batters under the score of 50.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant then added 64 runs for the fourth wicket before Pant walked back after scoring 46.

Pujara and Shreyas Iyer then steadied India’s ship with a 149-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Team India were looking in a decent position and then Pujara lost his wicket and missed the chance to score a century.

India ended the day 1 on 278 for 6.

Iyer and Ashwin started the second day campaign for India, but Iyer soon in the morning session lost his wicket and much like Pujara he to failed to score a century, as he felt 14 runs short of a hundred.

Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav’s partnership of 92 for the eighth wicket helped India score a good total in the first innings, as India ended their innings on 404.

Ravichandran Ashwin played a knock of 58, Kuldeep Yadav scored 40 in the process.

Magical Spell by Kuldeep Yadav

The spin magician Kuldeep Yadav took the charge by taking 5 wickets for India after Mohd Siraj and Umesh Yadav bagged top 4 wickets and bowled out the hosts on just 150.

Yadav just gave 40 runs and recorded his third fifer in test cricket in his 8 match in the longest format of the game.

Bangladesh failed to cross the follow-on mark, but India decided to bat instead of asking the hosts to bat again.

Gill and Pujara scored centuries

Like the first innings, KL Rahul walked back early, but Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara were there in the middle with a solid mindset and both recorded centuries.

It was Shubman Gill’s maiden test century, while Pujara, who missed a well-deserved hundred in the first innings, made no mistake this time and hit his 19th ton of the career.

Riding high on these two batters performances, India declared the innings at 258 for 2 and asked Bangladesh to chase 513 to win the first test.
