“I Am Representation Of New India”, Said Virat Kohli While Replying To Greg Chappell’s Claims

On Wednesday, Indian skipper Virat Kohli called himself a “representation of new India”. The following statement came after former Australian skipper Greg Chappell called Kohli “the most Australian non-Australian cricketer of all time”. Virat Kohli’s “Men in Blue” are all set to face the Aussies in the first of the four Test match series at Adelaide on December 17, Thursday.

Virat Kohli’s firm reply to Greg Chappell

In a pre-match press conference, Virat Kohli was asked about his aggressive style of approach towards the game that the former Indian coach Greg Chappell compared to that of the Australians. Virat Kohli, while replying to Chappell’s claims, said “I would like to say that I have always been myself.”

“The way my personality and character is, I am the representation of new India. For me, that’s how I look at it,” the 33-year-old said during a virtual media conference on the eve of the first Test at Adelaide.

“In my mind, it’s not (about) being compared to the Australian mindset as such. It’s how we have started to stand up as the Indian cricket team and my personality has been like this from day one” he added.
