Bollywood’s association with cricket is quite old in India. Cricketers have always been treated as the ultimate celebrities in this cricket-obsessed nation, and cricketers have also constantly wooed Bollywood divas. Many cricketers have dated or married Bollywood actresses, starting from former captain MAK Pataudi to the current skipper Virat Kohli.
And KL Rahul seems to be heading in the same direction as well. The Indian cricketer was all over the headlines for reportedly dating Athiya Shetty, a Bollywood diva. Neither Rahul nor Athiya have spoken about the alleged affair, but the rumors have not stopped. Their trips, as well as social media posts, have further fueled the flames.
Neither of the two denied their relationship. But Athiya has now finally opened up on the alleged relationship reports doing the rounds in the media. The actress said the rumors and stories don’t bother her at all.
She added that people will not get any response from her side regardless of what the issue is. Athiya also added that she did not want to speak publicly about matters, personal and private – whether it’s friendship, relationships or family. She said she wanted to keep the spotlight away from her private life.
Rahul’s struggles
Meanwhile, KL Rahul is not having the best of time on the field with the bat. Although the right-hand batsman has had a good World Cup campaign, things didn’t go well for him after that tournament. He had a poor tour of the West Indies and paid the price by losing his spot in the Test side.
However, Rahul had a good outing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which concluded recently. He was the second-highest run-scorer with 598 runs and helped Karnataka win the title. For the upcoming three-match series against Bangladesh, the right-handed batsman is reportedly part of India’s T20I team.
