Despite missing a significant amount of cricket the year before, Indian bowler T Natarajan is a consistent performer for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). On Saturday, the Indian speedster executed Hyderabad’s spectacular triumph over Faf du Plessis‘s Bangalore team, drawing praise from the cricket community. Let us look at how Vettori Back Natarajan’s Comeback in this below article.
In the 36th match of the IPL 2022, Virat Kohli, the former RCB captain, marking his 2nd consecutive duck, RCB was bowled out for just a total of 68 runs against SRH at the Brabourne Stadium. Barely two batsmen from the RCB side did reach double digits in a contest that spanned just 24.1 overs. From SRH bowlers, Natarajan’s bowling prowess was praised by a former RCB captain.
Natarajan gives Rohit and Dravid so many options around their selection: Vettori Back Natarajan’s Comeback
“He comes into play because of the skill sets and what he offers at the death. We see time and time again how hard it is to bowl at the death, how hard it is to execute, and how really a bowler does it consistently. We know Natarajan’s got enough of a track record to suggest he can pull it off. He may not force his way into a playing XI, but in a 15-man squad, he gives Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid so many options around their selection,” Vettori said.
Daniel Vettori, who led the Royal Challengers Bangalore team prior to Kohli being named full-time skipper, has spoken in on the Indian pacer’s stance. Natarajan previously represented India during England’s tour of the Asian country in March 2021.
“We shouldn’t underestimate the fact that T Natarajan coming back into the team and the form that he has shown – He’s been able to balance out that attack in a lot of ways. He’s been able to bowl anywhere, but we know how exceptional he can be at the death,” he added.
The Tamilnadu-born, Natarajan defeated RCB’s heavyweight Glenn Maxwell, followed by Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga. The Hyderabad seamer took three wickets with enhanced consistency, allowing only 10 runs in his three overs. Along with Marco Jansen, he was instrumental in SRH’s dramatic 9-wicket victory against RCB at the Brabourne Stadium. Natarajan, on the other hand, is the 2nd-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2022, collecting 15 scalps from seven matches.
