The KL Rahul-led team, Lucknow Super Giants, defeated Mumbai Indians for their fifth win of the IPL 2022 season. After being trounced by Royal Challengers Bangalore a few days earlier, the Lucknow captain was fined 20% of the match cost. He received this punishment for breaking the match’s code of conduct.

After winning the toss, Mumbai elected to bowl first. Mumbai bowled brilliantly, but Rahul held one end and hit a six in the last over to reach his century.

KL Rahul, the captain, scored an unbeaten 103 off 62 balls and struck 12 fours and four sixes. Aside from him, no other batsman could make a big contribution to the squad. Manish Pandey, with 22 runs, was the team’s second-highest scorer. Ayush Badoni got 14 runs and Deepak Hooda ten.
In response, the Mumbai Indians could only muster 132 runs for eight wickets in the allotted overs. Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma scored at the top with 39 runs.

Tilak Verma, on the other hand, scored 38 runs. Apart from these two, only Kieran Pollard managed to go into double figures. Pollard scored 19 runs in his inning of work. Lucknow’s Krunal Pandya claimed three wickets for 19 runs.
